Another Plumber Down the Drain

Posted bycruiserdon 2/25/2010

Hard to believe, but I had two appointments with two different plumbing service providers for initial estimates (set back-to-back, one hour apart) and they both failed to arrive. J & R was the first of the scheduled appointments and didn't even call to let me know the plumber wasn't going to make it. This demonstrated a lack of dependability that isn't acceptable for my plumbing job needs. Customer service (and just basic courtesy) dictates that customers should receive a telephone call if the service provider is going to be late or miss an appointment. I called when no one had yet to arrive 20 minutes after the appointment time. The individual I spoke with indicated he'd be unable to make it to my home anytime soon and asked if we could reschedule the appointment for an hour or two later. I left work to make the appointment, and couldn't just wait around for an hour or two for the plumber to show up. The worst part? Had I not called, I don't know that I would have been notified at all. This plumber lost the job and lost my business.
